The annual “Strictly Come Dancing” Christmas Special will not take place this year, according to reports in the UK media.

The 2020 season of Strictly is scheduled to go ahead for a limited run of episodes from October, but the traditional Christmas Day episode has reportedly been abandoned. Both the new celebrity contestants and their professional dance partners will have to self-isolate for up to two weeks in order to take part in the series, but it has been suggested such quarantine measures are not feasible or practical for a one-off festive show when new dance pairings are required.
