Beloved carol “Silent Night” has topped this year’s Classic FM poll for the UK’s favourite carol of 2014 – taking over from the number one of the last two years “O Holy Night”. “Silent Night” was famously sung in the WWI trenches at Christmas 1914. The centenary of that event has certainly had an impact in “Silent Night” moving back to the top of the festive poll.
