The Mousehole Harbour Lights are an annual highlight of Christmas in Cornwall. But the trustees and committee responsible for the display have decided to cancel the lights for 2020 because of the Covid-19 emergency.

Some of the work for the display would normally be carried out by volunteers, working in groups, between May and September. But not this year. The organisers explained they could not bring 3,000 visitors to the village for the traditional switch-on – or some 30,000 visitors more over the three-week period of illumination – with the consequent risk of transmission of infection.
